Youth & Family Ministry
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)
In the Orlando Church of Christ, we desire to have an excellent ministry for every age group of children. We believe it is important to approach each age group with clear and purposeful strategies to implement the Scripture above. The Youth and Family Ministry consists of three groups: “Kingdom Kids” (birth-5th grade), middle school students (6th-8th grade) and high school students (9th-12th grade).
The Kingdom Kids Ministry is the foundation of the Youth and Family Ministry. In weekly classes, we use a Bible-based curriculum tailored to every grade level. Qualified, trained volunteers teach lessons to develop a fundamental knowledge of Christianity for the children in a safe and fun environment. In this ministry, we equip parents to teach and train their own children using Biblical principles.
In the Middle School Ministry, we encourage parents or guardians to continue engaging with their pre-teen or teenager. We envision the young teens strengthening friendships with peers and pursuing their faith together. It is our goal to help those in this ministry to take their walk with God to a deeper level. To prompt this, we have Bible lessons and relationship-building activities on the fourth Sunday of each month for both the middle students and their parents.
When our teens reach the High School Ministry, we hope he or she has a Godly foundation, terrific friendships, and a growing faith in God. While all teens mature at different rates, our goal is to see every teenager become a Christian. To assist their spiritual journey, we offer personal Bible studies, encourage mentorships, and plan numerous faith-based activities throughout the month. We also connect our teens with other teens statewide via Florida Teen Camp, retreats, and various events.
